Bay PRess & PAckaging

Website redesign for a family-owned business.

UX Design | UI Design

DESCRIPTION

Bay Press & Packaging’s online presence was in need of a redesign and rebuild of their website. Between one developer and one designer (myself), we recreated the experience parsing through the business’ services, product offerings, and contact page.

GOAL & SOLUTION

Utilizing an existing repository of high quality product photos and update of content structure, we designed a new website look and feel to engage new clientele and enhance the transparent communication between potential customers and business owners.

EVALUATION

COMPETITORS & BRANDING

The packaging industry is overrun by large conglomerates and manufacturers that have strong branding and sometimes dated presence. Adapting a style and voice that would feel modern, straight-forward, and collaborative was important for Bay Press & Packaging’s needs.

Their brand colors were very similar to another multi-location and popular packaging and shipping business, so it was crucial to emphasize the differences Bay Press & Packaging had to offer. To do this, there was an emphasis on the product photos and strategic logo use throughout the website.

Wireframes

templates & Reusing components

For easy browsing and straight-to-the-point reading, we developed a template to build off of for all product pages. This allowed for ease and quick development of the site at the end of the project, as well as a concise way of listing product offerings and services.

Iterations

future steps

logo update & mobile

The desktop website redesign was a foundational change for Bay Press & Packaging, but additional work and design solutions around mobile design and logo rebranding would be prioritized next steps to increase engagement from clientele that could be blocked by the mobile page structure.
