Getting to know Susan Shurun Shao

I'm Susan Shao, a product designer based in the Bay Area who works at the intersection of healthcare, complex systems, and human-centered design. My process starts with research and empathy — understanding not just what users need, but why — and moves through iteration to solutions that are both usable and meaningful. I've designed for genomics, surgical technology, and patient-facing products, always with an eye toward making complicated systems feel simple.
